What is a Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coatings are unlike anything that is usually applied to a vehicle’s paint. Instead of sitting on top of the paint like a wax, we apply it to near perfect paint to bond to your existing clear coat, allowing the coating to be a highly durable and protective shield on your vehicle.

Ceramic coatings include every detailing step possible before application to last the longest and give the best look we can offer. When the coating is on, it leaves your paintwork with an unbeatable shine, amazing hydrophobic water beading, chemical resistance, and durability that lasts years, unlike waxes & sealants which will only last months.

The protection that comes along with ceramic coatings makes it resistant to everyday and long-term damage. Any micro scratching or water spots will not touch your paint, while bug etchings and oxidation will not get to your paint as long as the coating is on. Thus acting as a strong sacrificial surface to ensure your paint underneath stays preserved as long as the coating lasts.

Many people tend to think that something like a ceramic coating is only for sports or super cars, which is not the case. They are perfect for daily driven vehicles that are often dirty for easier maintenance in the future. Ceramic Coating is recommended for any type of vehicle that you’d like to keep protected for years to come.

Why should you want a coating?

A ceramic coating isn’t a budget service, but this is the highest end of detailing that you can have done, which would ensure it’s long term protection for a large investment, your vehicle. If you’re looking to have peace of mind, ease of cleaning, and with amazing looking paint for the next 3-9 years, this is the service for you. With no need to have it waxed every few months, this will end up saving you money and time long term.

A ceramic coating is not a miracle product that is applied and then never needs to be washed again. It must be taken care of with basic upkeep to reap the full benefits, it’s true lifespan depends on how it is taken care of over time.

Ceramic Coating FAQs

  • Ceramic coatings are hand applied with delicate applicators to prevent further micro scratching after the preparation process.

  • A ceramic coated vehicle is recommended to be properly washed with PH-neutral soap every 2 weeks - 1 month. Long term build up of dirt and debris may leave contaminates on the surface, which could decrease the total life expectancy. The coating is easy and simple to clean, so the washing process is usually minimal as long as it is maintained often.

  • Unfortunately no, scratches are still possible. But compared to your clear coat, a ceramic coating can take a ton more abuse, meaning it won’t scratch nearly as easily as an uncoated car.

  • We have a shop located on US-1 for vehicle drop off. We have keys locked and alarms armed for overnight stay.

  • With everything included, our ceramic coating packages are a typical 1-3 day process, but could be more based on vehicle size and condition. It takes this long due to the extensive process, as well as time for it to sit and cure.

Pros:

  • Incredible water beading and protection.

  • High gloss that extends years of life to your paint.

  • Never need to wax your vehicle with the coating on.

  • Save time and money with easy cleaning.

  • Self cleaning properties when it rains or gets wet.

Cons:

  • The coating will reduce effectiveness over time if neglected.

  • Coating is resistant to water spotting, but it can still happen if hard mineral water is left on to dry (always dry your car if using hose water).

  • Water beading can decrease over time, which just means it is time to be boosted back to it’s original hydrophobic properties. We do this with our annual inspection to ensure your coating stays in tip top condition. .
